Alasvallei

The Alasvallei Internment camp was located in Sumatra and was run by the Dutch to house Axis (German) civilian internees after war broke out between Germany and the Netherlands in 1940.

Until recently only two denominations had been reported, a 1 cent and a 5 cent. Just recently a booklet containing the known denominations plus a 2 1/2 cent and a 10 cent. All issues from this camp are exceedingly rare except for the one cent which is still quite scarce.
