These were a series of 18 coal mines that were nationalized after World War II. German POWs were held in France after the war to work in the mines. This particular scrip is from the Valenciennes mines.

The scrip was issued in denominations of 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 300, and 500, Points. The back has a warning of severe punishment for counterfeiting the notes.
