Diedenhofen

Rochling Iron and Steel Company had a work camp located in Diedenhofen which is just North of Metz France.

Very little is known about the camp.  There are 2 types of notes.  Type 1 notes are gray with the date August 8, 1942 stamped in red. Type 1 denominations are 5, 10 pfennig and 0.25, 0.50, and 1 Mark.  Type 2 notes are manila with the date August 13, 1942 stamped in red.  Type 2 denominations are 10 pfennig, 0.50, 1, 1.5, and 2 marks.  The notes from this camp are thought to be fantasies having been produced by a French numismatist after the war.
