Oranienburg
Oranienburg was the first Concentration Camp to issue scrip.
The camp was opened in 1933 and closed in 1935. Sachsenhausen was built near the location of the Oranienburg camp and opened in September 1936. Oranienburg scrip was issued in four denominations 5 pfennig, 10 pfennig, 50 pfennig, and 1 mark. The 50 pfennig and the 1 mark are very scarce and the designs are very symbolic, especially the 50 pfennig.
