British War Department Camps located in the United Kingdom

The War Department issued POW notes to be used throughout the United Kingdom.

The notes generally have an ink stamp on the front designating the camp it was used in.  The back of the notes have 8 circles, every 3 months the notes had to be turned in and a new ink validation stamp was placed in one of the circles. The notes were issued in denominations of 3 and 6 Pence, 1 and 2 Shillings, 2 Shillings 6 Pence (half crown), and 5 and 10 Shillings.  The 2 and 10 Shillings are the rarest denomination.
