Camp 101 (Angler, Ontario) Canada POW Camp
Camp 101 was located in Angler, Ontario and operated from January 1041 until July 1946. The camp was located on the northern shore of Lake Superior and held 559 German POWs.
A large escape took place at the camp with all POWs recaptured but with 5 shot and 2 later dying. In 1942 the camp became the home for over 700 Japanese-Canadians that were interred there. Chits were issued in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50 cents and 1 dollar.
