Campo Concentramento P.G. 21
Camp 21 was located in Chieti and was known as a very brutal camp with over crowding with food shortages and sewage problems.
In 1943 after Italy’s surrender, the head British officer would not permit anyone to leave. As a result the Germans took over the camp and moved the POWs to Northern Italian camps near the border with Austria. Denominations listed are 1, 2, 5, 10, and 20 lire.
