Canada POW Camp Number 22

Canada had 26 camps housing 35,000 prisoners of war beginning in 1940. The largest camps were Lethbridge and Medicine Hat.

Many of the camps used only numbers to designate them while others used the name of the town they were located in. Camps were located in Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick, and Alberta. Camp 22 was located in Mimico, Ontario and operated from July 1940 to May 1944. Canadian POW issues are very rare and difficult to find.
